KANSAS RUSH WICHITA GOALKEEPER CURRICULUM
Goalkeeper training sessions are free to current competitive KRW players in good standing. The club understands the need to conduct specialized training for the most unique position in the game.
Training sessions will focus on the 4 key pillars to goalkeeping: Technical, Tactical, Physical, and Mental aspects. Training sessions will be offered twice a week for one hour. Each week, instruction will be given on a different aspect of goalkeeping starting with basic technique and ending with dynamic/realistic game play experience.
Goalkeepers will be divided into training groups based on ability, not their age. We believe that it is important to train goalkeepers appropriately, and he/she will not do activities that are too advanced for the goalkeeper. Goalkeepers will be moved up or down based upon assessments from goalkeeping staff.
At the end of the season, KRW will host the only area Keeper Wars Tournament. This tournament is for goalkeepers only and gives them a place to showcase their skills competing against other goalkeepers.
