Wichita, KS (March 26, 2025) – Kansas Rush Wichita (KRW) and the board of directors are pleased to announce that the club will compete in the newly branded Women’s Premier Soccer League(WPSL) Division II for the 2025 season. The club has a historical reputation of producing many of the area’s strongest female soccer players, with over 100 former KRW girls graduating onto college soccer in the past 10 years. The team competed in their inaugural season of the WPSL U21 during the summer of 2023, finishing with an overall record of 6-2-0 under the guidance of head coach Kyle Eno. Eno is now a member of the coaching staff at NWSL professional side KC Current, led by former US Women’s National Team Head Coach Vlatko Andonovski. The summer of 2024 saw KRW finish their second season with a record of 6-1-1 under the guidance of Rey Ramirez. The club has an overall record of 12-3-1 in two summers of WPSL competition.
KRW is pleased to announce the appointment of George Gunn as the man to lead the team for the 2025 season. Gunn, originally a native of Bournemouth, England currently serves as an assistant coach for NCAA DII Emporia State University Women’s Soccer. “I’m excited to join the club as head coach of the WPSL II team and can’t wait to get started. This team provides a fantastic platform for players to continue competing and developing their talents over the summer,” stated Head Coach George Gunn. “I look forward to becoming more involved in the Wichita community, mentoring young female athletes, and getting back on the field in a new role to do what I love most.”
“First and foremost, we want to thank our previous coaches and all the players for their hard work and dedication in making our WPSL program nothing but a success. Kyle Eno, Rey Ramirez and their assistants have been wonderful ambassadors of the game and represented the club in a first-class manner,” stated Adam Hunter, KRW Technical Director. “With our most recent appointment of George Gunn, we are looking to build off a solid foundation with an ever growing player pool.”
The team will start training on May 20 and play an eight-game schedule that kicks off with a May 22 home opener at Stryker Sports Complex. More details to be released about the additional coaching staff, training, match schedule, player announcements and youth summer training opportunities.
